The Rolling Stones guitarist is ready to hit the road in nothing else but a gipsy caravan he was given as a gift for his 60th birthday. The famous guitarist woke up to find it parked in his drive. Wood’s wife Jo spent an extravagant £40,000 on the impeccably restored caravan as a treat for the star who has Romany gipsy roots. Ronnie, who will be 60 next week, plans to road-test his new toy this summer with his wife, an ex-Page Three girl. A source said: “Ronnie rolled out of the house in the morning and burst out laughing when he saw it. He’s delighted with the caravan. He has Romany gipsy roots and always said he wanted one…He’ll spend hours in the caravan. He was joking that he’ll have to go on tour this summer in it with Jo.” “The Stones are playing the Isle Of Wight in the summer so he’ll have a perfect chance to give it a good road test.” Ronnie was born to Romany gipsies in Hillingdon, North London, and grew up on tugboats and council estates. He was the only member of his family to be born on land.
After “Glamorest Life,” which is still big hit and in circulation, rapper Trina is all set to return with her new album “Baddest B*itch II,” via Slip-N-Slide/EMI. The album will release on 14th August. Glamorest Life’s ‘Here we go’ was a number eight hit on the Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart. When asked, why she switched to EMI from Atlantic, she said, ‘We didn’t share the same vision anymore and I just wanted to go out there and do it on my own. But I love everyone at Atlantic and have no bad blood between me and the label.’ The first single from her album is ‘I’m Single Again’ and the second is expected to be “I Wish I Never Met You.” About the new project, she said, ‘I put 150 percent into this album. I’m stepping my game up like 10 notches. I have a thousand different emotions and feelings and I show it all in this project. I didn’t want to be sad, just happy and high spirited, so people can see Trina really grew up.”
R&B star Rihanna still secures her place at number one this week and there are no new surprises as three singles stay at their previous places. Beyonce and Shakira’s Beautiful Liar still remain at number three and Maroon 5 doesn’t move from the second position. However, in the albums, Maroon 5moved up to lead and Linkin Park slipped to two. Singer Sting, drummer Stewart Copeland and guitarist Andy Summers of The Police rock band began their world tour of five-months that will take in much of North America and Europe before wrapping up in early 2008. They performed in front of 20,000 fans on Monday, May 28 in Vancouver, 21 years after their last major concert. The fans took to their feet and sang Message in a Bottle, the group’s 1979 smash hit alongwith them. The band had never split officially however each of the members went on to pursue own solo career in the mid-1980s. In early 2007 they reunited to mark their 30th anniversary and since March they all have been rehearsing together. The rock band has also confirmed the release of 30-track greatest hits album that will be available globally in the second week of June. The band’s rock music in 1980s was inspired by reggae and punk music. In 1983, their album Synchronicity was at number one in the UK and went Platinum eight times in the US. The song, Every Breath You Take won American Video Award and nabbed two Ivor Novello Awards for them. While speaking to Vancouver Sun, Andy Summers said : We’ve got all these famous songs, but we look at them like new pieces of material. To a point, we’ve reworked them, but obviously all the famous riffs are still there – you can’t play Every Breath You Take without me playing that guitar, obviously. We constantly fiddle with them, but because they’re alive, they’re living, they’re not dead. We spent the last two months rearranging and fiddling around until we felt it was good. On the other hand Copeland disclosed that there was still tension between the band members at times, as their strong personalities lead to arguments when they develop their musical ideas. Copeland told Reuters: We play nicely for two or three days, and then we start to get on each others’ nerves. Then we have a screaming match, and then we hug and kiss, and then we play even better. It’s not the most comfortable place in the world being in The Police. It’s a bed of roses, all right – including the thorns. The Police will play at the Live Earth concert on July 7 2007. The concert will help to promote action to confront the global warming.

John Winston Ono Lennon’s piano that has been in storage since 1990′s and was used by him on the night of December 8, 1980 before he died has been put up for sale for $375,000 (£189,000). The 20th-century English songwriter and singer gained worldwide fame as one of the founders of The Beatles. This royal piano remained with him at the Record Plant Recording Studios in New York where he recorded his 1971 Imagine album. The piano is said to be the favorite of the rock star and was used for many hours on the fateful night before he was shot down. The piano meant a lot to Lennon and the staff had to move it to whichever studio Lennon went to work. Moments in Time has also put up Lennon’s album signed for his killer Mark Chapman and a signature that he penned for one of the studio’s staff. This signature is believed to be the last thing he wrote. In 1991 Lennon, the Imagine star was also honoured with the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.

And so, he is also heading for a joint venture with the Universal Music Group’s Interscope Geffen A&M label group. He plans to serve as the chairman and chief executive of the new label. The pop star and singer George Michael had to cancel a concert that was scheduled in Prague. The truck carrying his stage equipment crashed between Bucharest and Prague damaging a huge part of the podium as it got trapped on the damaged truck and was not replaceable. The 43-year-old Faith star was ‘profoundly saddened’ by the incident and cancellation. Michael had recently begun his 25 Live tour and was to play the first concert at Wembley Stadium next week. Michael recently appeared in court after being accused of driving under the influence of drugs. The singer admitted the allegations but explained that it was due to tiredness and for the same he was prescribed drugs. He is due to be sentenced on 8 June, a day before his first Wembley gig. George Michael’s pop career spans 25 years. The singer’s real name is George Panayitou and he has many sensational solo albums to his credit since 1986 including Wham!. George Michael has sold over 80 million records and has toured each and every corner of the world. He will end the 25 Live tour on July 26, in Athens, Greece.
