Hugh Jackman collects $850,000 for charity

London, Dec 9: Hollywood Actor Hugh Jackman has collected more than $850,000 for donations through the stage performances of his Broadway show.

The Australian actor is presently performing in his one-man song and dance production, ‘Back on Broadway’, in New York and is raising money for the Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids crusade, reported a music site.

The Hollywood heart throb Jackman is appealing his audience to do funding and auctioning off T-shirts he has dressed in on the stage, which have made collections of more than $10,000. He has successfully raised more than $857,740 with his events.

Music world conveys grief on the death of one more legend, Heavy D

It was a shocking moment for the music world when fans of US Rapper Heavy D, real name Dwight Arrington Myers, heard the news of his death. It is supposed that he had a massive heart attack last week.  According to the staff at his Beverly Hills house, the rapper was coming back from a mall at around 11.30 a.m. and was scaling a set of stairs at his condo,  while he felt difficulty in breathing. The staff tried to assist him to his home but he collapsed. When police arrived, they found him awake but still having complexity in breathing. He was hurried to cedars- Sinai Medical Center around noon, where he was declared dead.

After hearing the news of his death celebrities tweeted to express their grief.  La Toya Jackson tweeted ‘My heart goes out to the family and (loved) ones of Heavy D. I am so sorry for your (loss). You will be in my prayers.’

Singer Brandy added: ‘I am shocked, overwhelmed, and all of the above at the death of Heavyd! May you rest in peace!! I love you and I promise to live INSPIRED!

Basketball celebrity and part-time-rapper Shaquille O’Neal posted a video online in remembrance of the rapper.He said: ‘A lot of people are asking me how Heavy D influenced me. Well, Heavy D was the one who taught me, as a superstar, it’s okay to be humble.

Heavy D was the only leading and well-liked rappers of the 90s. He was the person in charge of the hip-hop trio Heavy D and the Boyz, which achieved mainstream reputation for the theme song for the TV show “In Living Color” he went on to even bigger success with the hit “Now that we have found Love” he also teamed up with Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson and BV King. In recent years Heavy D recorded a series of reggae fusion albums.

Heavy D most recent show was at the Michael Jackson tribute concert previous month. He was coupled by the King of Pop’s sister LaToya Jackson on stage. His last tweet was “BE INSPIRED”

Robbie Williams is really a famous British pop singer. Robbie had numerous differences of opinion along with other band mates and lastly he left the band within 1995, and then took to rock and roll & move way of life after connecting along with Britpop music group Oasis.

A two-day ceremony was programmed to honor the star. Day one was a public wake held on Thursday 17th 2011 and regardless of the frosty weather, supporters and celebrities from the music industry gathered to pay tribute to this acclaimed rapper. The service was held at Grace Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, New York.

Day two was a personal memorial service which was attended by only friends and family.

6. Far East Movement
